Nintendo Is Releasing A Modernized Version Of Their Retro Entertainment System On November 11 2016 The NES Classic Edition With 30 Pre-Installed Games

Overview:

NES Classic Edition Nintendo Console If you're like me and grew up in the 80's and 90's, chances are you remember those wonderful days of playing Super Mario Bros. among many classic titles on the original Nintendo Entertainment System. I recall plopping down in front of a 13-inch tube TV with friends and enjoying hours of fun staring at the blocky animations as we played each game. The 8-bit video game system was a huge hit around the world as it hit shelves between 1983 and 1986.

Fast forward to 2016, around 30 years later and Nintendo is releasing their classic console with a modern twist. The NES Classic Edition is set to release on November 11, 2016 for $59.99. It's a miniaturized version of the original console that includes 1 controller, 30 preloaded classic games and an HDMI hookup to look perfect in high definition. You may also wonder if the cartridge door opens? It doesn't, which not only saves us all from blowing air into cartridges, but the streamlined machine will take up minimal space in your home! Need another controller? No problem, a second controller will only set you back $10. And lastly, you'll be able to save game progress, how great is that?!

With all that being said, I'm excited about it's release and will be picking one up myself. Will you?

Now let's have a look at the classic games that come pre-installed in the console:

Meter Maid Hit With A Snowball Digital Concept Illustration For A Local Newspaper Calendar Contest

The Description:

This illustration was created in 2007 not only as a school project in college, but also as an entry into the local newspapers winter calendar contest. Unfortunately it didn't get picked, and in fact, it was tossed aside rapidly by the papers editors because I put "OH $#!T" on the snowboard held by the penguin located on the bottom-middle. My professor, the late, great K.P. Talbott said to the newspaper "If you like it, he can easily take that out", but the editors already had their mind set. Oh well. But I digress.

The work depicts a very busy scene in which the focal point is a parking meter attendant getting pummeled in the face by a snowball.

How To Create A Weekly Agenda Styled With CSS Using The Rotate Transform And Transition Properties

Overview:

As I learn more about what can be done with coding, the more fun it becomes. With this project I decided to create a weekly agenda with HTML and CSS that used the rotate transform and transition properties of CSS3. These specific functions are used to spin and show a larger block with text upon mouseover. More specifically, when you hover your mouse over a day of the week, the small tile will rotate 180 degrees and show the information on the back within a larger tile.

*For now, I still have some bugs to work out and this agenda does not work correctly in Safari, but it does work great in Chrome and Firefox.

How To Create A Fancy HTML Calendar Styled With CSS That Uses Hover Enlarge To Expand The Days Of The Week On Mouseover

Below I have them demo for you to try out! After that I have the HTML and CSS code. Let me know your thoughts on this by leaving a comment below and feel free to make improvements on this code!

*Note that this calendar does not work correctly in Safari. I have some bugs to work out.
